Run David, Run!

David Ralls, a member of St Austell Running Club, has won a place in this year’s London Marathon!
The club was awarded two places and David’s name was the first one pulled out of the hat. David only started running in 2014, with his wife, after he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2012. David is raising money for the Sunrise Centre at Royal Cornwall Hospital as this is where he has spent a lot of time and where his currently treatment is being overseen.

David said “I have first-hand experience of the Sunrise Centre who have been and continue to oversee my cancer treatment. I am fully aware of the excellent service provided by the staff and also the significant cost of equipment used at the centre”.

“This will be my first attempt at a marathon and I have decided to raise some money for the Sunrise Centre. I consider myself to be lucky in that despite the cancer I am able to do the things I want to do. Any money raised will help them treat an ever increasing number of people of all ages in Cornwall diagnosed with cancer.”
