The Cove Macmillan Support Centre based in Truro is celebrating being awarded the Macmillan Quality Environment Mark (MQEM) in recognition of the centre’s excellent standards of care for local people affected by cancer. The award was presented yesterday by Ed Murphy, Macmillan Strategic Partnership Manager to Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust’s Chief Executive, Kathy Byrne and The Cove’s team of staff and volunteers.

Public Health England (PHE) and NHS England (NHSE) have highlighted an issue with the NHS Breast Screening Programme, which has led to some women not being invited for their final screen between their 68th and 71st birthday. A number of IT improvements and changes to processes have now been made to the screening invitation system and the issue has now been fixed.
