Chrissie Jackson had raced just last year from Australia to China in the fifth leg of the Clipper Round the World Race and was about to embark on the China to Seattle stage when she became unwell with a DVT and needed urgent medical attention.

Last week, the Renal Unit at the Royal Cornwall Hospital held a cake sale to raise money for The Wave Project; a surf therapy program based in Newquay, which works to make a positive impact on the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people across the South West.
