It was summed up in this brilliant video featuring many colleagues and telling the story of a remarkable year for RCHT, where we demonstrated with our health and care partners we are ‘stronger together’.
Recounting events, Deputy Chief Executive and Dual Director of Nursing Midwifery and Allied Health Professions, Kim O’Keeffe, said: “Never have we had such an unprecedented year of challenge but once again what a tremendous effort from our staff and our communities as we try to steer ourselves through uncharted waters. I am very proud to be a part of the team at RCHT and want to say a huge thank you to colleagues for the strength, resilience and resolve they have shown to keep doing their very best for those who need our care.”
Adding her thanks to our local communities, RCHT Chairwoman, Dr Mairi Mclean said: “We want to also extend our thanks to our patients and the public who have been so understanding when we have had to make difficult decisions, such as restricting visiting, and to our volunteers who have continued to play such a vital role.”
“I am really amazed at how very well we come together and how compassionately we have cared.”
The meeting also looked to RCHT’s plans for the future, including multi-million investments in new buildings, equipment and technology over the coming years.
In just week two of his new role as RCHT Chief Executive, Tony Chambers tweeted after the meeting. ‘Hugely inspiring video presentations at @RCHTWeCare Annual Public Meeting. Very proud and humble to be CEO at this extraordinary organisation.’
