Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust has appointed a local external auditor in line with the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014.
Following due process Grant Thornton LLP have been appointed for a period of three years commencing with the 2023/24 financial audit with an option to extend the contract for a further two years.
The Local Auditor Panel agreed the procurement process following use of the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative framework agreement and recommended the appointment of the preferred bidder following evaluation. The Trust Board accepted the recommendation of the Local Auditor Panel and agreed the appointment on 2 February 2023.
