Birthday celebrations in full swing at the Truro Birth Centre

Birthday celebrations were in full swing at the Truro Birth Centre at RCHT today, as they celebrated their first birthday since they opened their doors to expectant parents!
Marking this momentous occasion, the centre invited parents who have had their babies with them during the past year to an open day, providing cakes and a raffle with proceeds going towards the BABA appeal.

Parents Anna and Jason Cribley were one of the families who joined in the celebrations with their 2 week old son, Kian, who was born at the Birth Centre. The couple were pleased to come back to see staff again and to remember their time when they welcomed Kian into the world.

“The environment that is provided at this Birth Centre is just fantastic; it’s so relaxing and stress free” stated Jason.

“If I could have written down what would have been our dream birth for my wife and I, it would have been exactly what we experienced at this Birth Centre.”

Birth Centre Coordinator, Sarah Harvey-Hurst was delighted to welcome so many families back and to see how their bundles of joy have grown.

“Since we opened the centre back in November 2017, we have delivered 823 babies, with 83 of those babies being born in October alone”

said Sarah.

“We are so thrilled that we can offer women this service within Royal Cornwall Hospital and it is so lovely to see so many of them today and to have cuddles with their gorgeous babies! Thank you so much to everyone who celebrated with us today”
