National Breast Screening Programme

Public Health England (PHE) and NHS England (NHSE) have highlighted an issue with the NHS Breast Screening Programme, which has led to some women not being invited for their final screen between their 68th and 71st birthday. A number of IT improvements and changes to processes have now been made to the screening invitation system and the issue has now been fixed.

National Guardian’s Office to carry out case review into speaking up

The National Guardian’s Office (NGO) will be looking into speaking up practices, processes and culture within the trust as part of a case review that will begin next month. This is in response to information, such as feedback from our staff survey, that the trust needs to improve the support it provides to workers who speak up.

RCHT’s paediatric diabetes team support young elite sports people

Three years ago, sport loving Rio Thomas was diagnosed with diabetes. As a talented footballer, Rio was concerned it would really affect his ability to play at the level he wanted to. However, that was not the case. Since his diagnosis, Rio, now aged 14, has played football at county level and this season is playing football, rugby and is a long distance runner for his school Fowey River Academy.
