Aiming to raise the profile of the valued and vital role of HCAs and APs in supporting patient care, the conference was also an opportunity for professional updates.
The day offered a series of sessions covering topics such as pressure ulcer management, end of life care and a Q&A with Chief Nurse, Kim O’Keeffe. It was also a chance to catch up with colleagues from across the Trust and to find out more about the exciting opportunities now on offer for those wanting to develop their nursing careers.
“It was an absolute delight to open the Healthcare Assistant and Assistant Practitioners Celebration Conference today. Our colleagues in these professions are at the forefront of providing safe, good quality care and we cannot value their contribution highly enough in my eyes. Today was about celebrating their roles but also supporting their development opportunities as the linchpin in providing an outstanding experience of care for our patients.”
The event was supported by UNISON and even offered a fabulous prize draw for participants, with one lucky winner getting to take home a brand new Land Rover for a weekend!
Many thanks to Deputy Chief Nurse, Claire Martin and all of those involved in organising the event for making it such a success. If you’d like to keep up with the latest news for HCAs and APs, following their Twitter feed @RchtHCAnetwork.
