Staff at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals are inviting health and care colleagues and members of the public across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to join them this Thursday to pause and reflect on the impact the Covid-19 pandemic has had on us all. Through this virtual event we want to reaffirm our commitment to stand with one another as we head into an uncertain few months and continue to care for our communities.
Ahead of the Thursday, yellow seed hearts are being distributed which people joining the event can display at 11 am during the broadcast as a symbol of togetherness, before taking them home to plant in their garden or a special place. You’ll be able to do this via Microsoft Teams, either by webcam or by the camera on your phone or mobile device. We’d love to see teams displaying their hearts on the day, but please remember to remain socially distanced.
“We hope that colleagues from all sectors of health and care, including community hospitals, GPs and care homes, will come together for this short time and that members of the public will join us too, as we reflect on the effect the pandemic has had across our communities.”
The event will be an open livestream for health and care colleagues, as well as the public. Those wanting to show their hearts can join the broadcast on Microsoft Teams via http://bit.ly/PauseReflectShowYourHeart. There will also be a live stream of the event for staff and public onYouTube: https://youtu.be/4SVCw56hTw4.
