Food, Glorious Food

The community of Cornwall have been phenomenal and overwhelmed us with their generosity, kindness and practical offers of help and support. Thanks to a Crowdfunding page set up by owner of restaurant Canteen in St Agnes, Benn Quinn, almost £14,000 has been raised to go towards providing delicious meals for our brilliant colleagues.
Ben and his professional team of chefs have been producing healthy boxes of food which are being served at the Knowledge Spa at Royal Cornwall Hospital, West Cornwall Hospital (WCH), and at St. Michael’s Hospital (SMH). Initially these meals were being subsidised thanks to the Crowdfunding appeal, however as the money raised has exceeded expectations, Ben and his team are now able to offer these delicious boxes of food for free using the funds, across all three hospital sites.

The free boxes of food will be limited and will be available on a first come basis, so we’d kindly ask colleagues to be considerate to others when collecting theirs. For colleagues at WCH food boxes can be collected from noon until 4pm, and at SMH these will be available for those on a night shift. For colleagues at RCH food boxes can be collected by visiting the atrium café at Knowledge Spa between 4.30pm and 8pm.

Of course we want donations to still keep coming in so we can continue to provide this amazing offer over the comings weeks and month. Therefore, we’re asking colleagues who collect free meals to kindly make donations, however small, to the Crowdfunding page.
