Taking place within the hospital grounds, the fete will provide entertainment and activities for local families and supporters to enjoy.
Senior Sister Shelley Jackson, said, “Please come along and support us! We were rated “outstanding” for care by the CQC in our last inspection and we want to share our success and pride in our hospital and staff. We’re hoping to raise funds to support our post- operative rehabilitation service for patients who have had hip or knee joints replaced in our hospital.”
“There has long been a tradition of summer fetes at St Michael’s and this year will also be an opportunity to share with the local community the aims for Hospital’s future, as we develop our centre of excellence for orthopaedic surgery,”
added Sister Shelley.
Any local groups that would like to be part of the entertainment programme are urged to get in touch as some slots for the afternoon are still remaining.
For a donation, visitors will also have the unique opportunity to take a stroll around the Grade 2 Registered Historic Gardens of the neighbouring residential care home ‘The Downes’, not normally open to the public.
The fete raffle is being supported by many local businesses with donated prizes, including: a family ticket to the Eden Project, entry to Newquay Zoo and a fish and chip supper from Frasers in Penzance.
Free parking will be available on site during the fete and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of St Michaels Hospital.
The fete is being held as part of The £70 Challenge run by Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity, with teams from across the NHS Trust being given £70 to grow and reinvest to raise funds for their chosen area within the charity.
Further details on the fete can also be found on the Event Facebook Page.
