Allister Grant, Medical Director for Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust, explains how this campaign will give support,
“Over the next few weeks as the Covid-19 epidemic gets worse our staff will be working incredibly hard and often in stressful environments to provide the best care we can to our patients. Under these circumstances the simple kindness of strangers, which this campaign represents, will undoubtedly boost morale.”
#KindCoffee is an initiative of RCHT Charity – an opportunity for anyone to show their support. By making a donation the community can show their appreciation and pass on some kindness to NHS staff with the small gesture of providing a free cup of coffee.
“In a nod to the recent movements encouraging everyone to Be Kind and to carry out random acts of kindness, this is a simple way for the Cornish population to have an impact in their immediate NHS community. We know that the population of Cornwall are just the best at pulling together and we hope that everyone will want to show their support of our NHS teams,” said Karen Murrish, Fundraising Manager for Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity.
Royal Cornwall Hospitals Charity is working in partnership with Mitie and the Friends of Royal Cornwall Hospital to deliver the project across the three sites of Royal Cornwall Hospital, St Michael’s Hospital and West Cornwall Hospital.
