Our modern radiotherapy department is based in the Sunrise Centre at the Royal Cornwall Hospital. We see around 2,000 new patients each year and deliver more than 1,800 courses of radiotherapy. We don’t have a waiting list so clinics are often extremely busy.
We have some of the latest state-of-the-art equipment to make sure treatments are as quick and pain-free as possible. This includes two TrueBeam linear accelerators for treatments such as image guided radiotherapy and intensity modulated radiotherapy. We also have a dedicated CT scanner for the planning of radiotherapy.
Our team is made up of an experienced team of medical oncologists, clinical oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, engineers, radiographers, assistant practitioners, radiotherapy assistants and nursing staff, all supported by a team of clerical and secretarial staff.
