Cancer Services

The majority of our patients come to us as outpatients, either for SACT at the Headland Unit, or radiotherapy at the Sunrise Centre. If you do need to stay with us in hospital, we have a dedicated inpatient ward for cancer patients with a host of specialist nurses to look after you during your stay. Find out more about Lowen Ward.

We also work very closely with the fantastic team at the Cove Macmillan Support Centre, who provide support and information for anyone who is, or has been, affected by cancer.

Acute Oncology

The Acute Oncology service supports cancer patients who are acutely unwell and have been admitted to hospital due to complications of their cancer or their treatment.

Clinical Haematology

The Clinical Haematology department looks after patients who have blood diseases and disorders. Our team of specialists diagnose and treat both malignant and non-malignant diseases such as leukaemia (cancer of the white blood cells) and lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system), sickle cell anaemia, iron deficiency and people whose blood doesn’t clot properly.

Teenagers and Young Adults with cancer

Teenagers and young adults face a whole host of additional challenges when living with cancer, and the Teenagers and Young Adults (TYA) service in Cornwall is here to support you holistically in any way we can, including support with finances, education, and more.

We also run a teenagers and young adult’s cancer support group which meets every six weeks at various venues in Cornwall for a get-together over dinner.

To find out about the service our TYA team provides, please contact us on 01872 250000.
