Renal

Caring for people with kidney diseases.

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals Renal Service looks after people with kidney diseases.

We have a highly experienced and dedicated team of four consultants and a number of specialist renal nurses, dieticians and support workers.

Our services include dialysis, kidney transplants and helping patients manage their disease. We also look after patients with kidney stones, systemic vasculitis, electrolyte abnormalities or people who have injured their kidneys.

Haemodialysis and Plasma Exchange

Our main dialysis unit is at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. We also have satellite units at West Cornwall Hospital in Penzance and at Bodmin Hospital. See the toggles below for more details.

Holiday Dialysis in Cornwall

We also run a holiday dialysis service for people visiting the area. Sessions can take place in Truro and Penzance and be booked by emailing rch-tr.cornwallholidaydialysis@nhs.net.

The Duchess of Cornwall Renal Unit - Royal Cornwall Hospital

Our patients come to see us regularly (usually three times a week), often for many years, and so we work hard to offer outstanding care whilst also making sure time spent with us is as informal and comfortable as possible.

Dialysis shifts are morning, afternoon and evening.
