The Cornwall research charity fund

Much of the Research and Development programme in Cornwall would not be possible without the generosity of our supporters.

Your charitable donations help us provide:

  • Patient amenities
  • State of the art equipment
  • Innovative research opportunities
  • Funding towards additional staff so that we can offer more research opportunities

Recent fundraising has helped us transform one of our research clinic rooms into a child-friendly environment where children can play, read books, play computer games or watch films. These facilities act as a distraction for our younger visitors during their clinic visits as well as provide play facilities for them when accompanying others to their appointments.

Five members of staff from the Research, Development & Innovation Department are undertaking a three day challenge, to cycle 237 miles from London to Paris on the 17th September 2020, to raise funds for the Cornwall Research Charity Fund.

Our group’s abilities are far ranging, from beginner to the more experienced long distance cyclist. We will be covering approximately eighty miles a day for three consecutive days, which will be extremely challenging for all members of the ‘Research Riders’ team.

The Cornwall Research Charity fund works to help improve healthcare for patients being seen or treated in Cornwall. It does this by providing funding to support patient amenities, buy equipment, support research specific roles and facilitates innovative research opportunities for healthcare professionals at the Trust.

A group of local volunteers run a charity shop in the Code Institute in Marazion. There are many bargains to be had and the shop is open from Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm. Find more information on the Marazion Cancer Shop Facebook page.
