The PENNA awards are hosted annually by the Patient Experience Network (PEN), a ‘not for profit’ membership-based network that prides itself on being “an independent organisation that welcomes all involved in delivering the patient experience – with a commitment to continuously improve.” The team from the RCHT competed against hospital trusts from across the country, winning in both categories. The Palliative & End of Life Care Team commented: “We are so proud of ‘Butterfly Cornwall’, and are so grateful to everyone involved that has made the scheme possible. Supporting teams to care for our patients and their loved ones is so important to everything we do, and it’s such a privilege to see this recognised.”
Butterfly Cornwall is a scheme to enhance end of life care for patients and their loved ones. Last year, the team produced a video to explain more about the scheme and the benefits it’s brought to our hospitals. This has been shown nationally and has generated much interest in the scheme.
