Relaxation of Covid restrictions in Maternity

5 December 2020 | By |

Relaxation of Covid restrictions means mum’s-to-be can have support at scans and community antenatal appointments.

We are pleased to announce that from Monday, 7th December, expectant mothers will be able to have a partner/person supporting them, from their same household, attend all scans and community antenatal appointments. In recent months partners have only been able to attend the 12-week scan and be present during labour and birth.

Unfortunately we cannot currently accommodate children at these appointments and both people attending must wear a face covering and either wash their hands or use the gel provided on entry.

We are doing everything we can to ensure our rooms allow for social distancing but there may be a screen up if this is not possible and the partner/member of your household will be asked to sit in a designated chair. They may also be asked by the community midwife to wait in their car until called.

We look forward to welcoming mothers and partners at these appointments and hope everyone understands the safety measures have been put in place to keep mothers, families and our maternity team safe
