Taking to the water for RCHT Charity’s Sundowner SUP

Planning outdoor events months ahead, we always keep our fingers and toes crossed that the weather (along with the water conditions for this challenge!) will be favourable… well Cornwall delivered for this year’s Sundowner SUP.

On Saturday 6th August a team of Sundowner SUP participants joined us on Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth to take part in this fantastic new event. With teams from Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro along with supporters from the local community, they were guided out to the starting point by the knowledgeable team from wesup.

Paddlers completed the mile course (and more) to return safely to the beach. We were delighted to see smiling faces along with pure excitement at seeing the masses of jelly fish enroute!

We are incredibly grateful for the support from Falmouth Town Council, wesup, Cornwall Fire and Rescue along with the generous donations for our raffle from The Greenbank Hotel, Gylly Beach Café, Southwest Bars and Events and Chill UK.

Fundraising events like these make a real impact supporting our hospital. It enables us to purchase equipment to advance care for our patients and their families along with supporting our colleagues. Thank you for making a difference.
