Update on visiting during Covid from Monday 7th December

An update has been made to allow a partner to attend all pregnancy scans and community antenatal appointments.
Visiting restrictions remain in place at all of our hospitals and the community hospital locations. An update has been made to allow a partner to attend all pregnancy scans and community antenatal appointments. These are the current arrangements:

End of Life

All patients considered end of life (Covid-19 positive or Covid-19 negative) one identified visitor per day with prior arrangement (of max two individuals).

Paediatrics and Maternity

Maintain one parent and one birthing partner and now both parents on neonatal and transitional care can visit at the same time; both parents to be present in the even of critically ill child; partners can attend all scans and community antenatal appointments.

Critical Care, Coronary Care, the Higher Care Bay on Willington, Phoenix and PICU and Harvest ward

One identified visitor per day with prior arrangement (of max two individuals).

Exceptional circumstances

Assessed by member of Care Group triumvirate and approved by an Executive Member.

In all circumstances visiting must be by prior arrangement and follow the track and trace principles by obtaining visitor details, training on PPE and completion of risk assessment that is signed by the visitor.
