Lowen Ward

This page was last updated: November 12th, 2021

Lowen Ward is an 18 bedded ward that specialises in looking after haematology and oncology patients We have the facilities to nurse patients in side rooms that require protective isolation.
The nurses on the ward have the specialised skill set to care for haematology and oncology patients. We are committed to updating their knowledge and skills to provide the highest standards of care at all times.

We work alongside community partners and community nurses to provide seamless care between the acute and community settings. The staff are happy to meet with patients and relatives at any time (in line with current visiting restrictions) but we do advise booking an appointment to make sure the right person is available. We also suggest that one person is nominated to call the ward for updates and act as the patient’s single point of contact.

Ward facilities

The ward has access to Wi-Fi. Laptops and mobiles are allowed (if users are respectful of other patients – it’s a good idea to bring headphones).

We have several side rooms that have their own TV and fridge/freezer.
