We work alongside community partners and community nurses to provide seamless care between the acute and community settings. The staff are happy to meet with patients and relatives at any time (in line with current visiting restrictions) but we do advise booking an appointment to make sure the right person is available. We also suggest that one person is nominated to call the ward for updates and act as the patient’s single point of contact.
The ward has access to Wi-Fi. Laptops and mobiles are allowed (if users are respectful of other patients – it’s a good idea to bring headphones).
We have several side rooms that have their own TV and fridge/freezer.
Visiting outside these times can be discussed with the nurse or midwife in charge. See our Visiting Policy.
Lowen Ward is located in the Link Corridor at Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro. If you enter from the Trelawny main entrance (near the café and WH Smith), take the lift or stairs to the ground floor below and continue past the Lloyds Pharmacy shop. The ward is located mid-way along the corridor on the right-hand side, opposite the Haematology Clinic.
