St Michael’s and St Joseph’s Wards, at St Michael’s Hospital in Hayle
, looks after patients who are coming in for planned orthopaedic
surgery, both major and minor.
Patients are admitted onto St Michael’s before surgery. After your surgery, you’ll either come back on to St Michael’s ward for monitoring before being discharge the same day, or be admitted as an inpatient to St Joseph’s Ward until you are ready to go home. Our friendly and supportive team prides itself on receiving excellent patient feedback and making sure all of our patients receive the best possible standard of care.
Visiting St Michael’s and St Joseph’s Ward
The visiting times are 2.00pm to 5.00pm and 6.00pm to 8.00pm (we have protected meal times between 5.00 and 6.00 pm).
Visiting outside these times can be discussed with the nurse or midwife in charge. See our Visiting Policy.
- Please introduce yourself and tell us who you are visiting
- Feel free to help out at mealtimes
- Do not disturb nurses during medicine rounds
- When asked to leave a bay or room, please respect our request
If you would like more than two people to visit you at a time, please check with the ward team.
Directions to St Michael’s and St Joseph’s Ward
St Michael’s Ward is on the second floor of St Michael’s Hospital in Hayle, and St Joseph’s is on the first floor. When you arrive at reception, go left. When you reach the waiting room, go right, through the doors and the door to the stairs is on your left. Take the stairs to the floor you need.
