Emergency Surgical Unit

This page was last updated: September 2nd, 2022

Emergency Surgical Unit (was Theatre Direct) is an emergency surgical ward receiving emergency cases from ED, 111 and GP services.
Theatre Direct has recently changed its name to Emergency Surgical Unit, along with attached lounge now named Same Day Surgical Assessment Unit.

Our Same Day Surgical Assessment Unit is currently undergoing some changes to improve the area, but is a unit where patients are triaged, assessed, can be taken to a theatre from here and attend scans.

Important Visiting RestrictionsDue to the Covid pandemic, restrictions have been made to the usual visiting times and rules listed below. Please view our Covid Visiting restrictions.
