On the Wheal Coates ward at Royal Cornwall Hospital, we look after patients who need surgery or medical care in the specialties of ear, nose and throat (ENT), Maxillofacial, Ophthalmic and Vascular. We look after both emergency and planned patients.
Our supportive, multi professional team work is made up of consultants, clinical nurse specialists, speech therapists, dietitian’s, physiotherapists and occupational therapists. We all work together to make sure you receive the highest standards of individual care and are very proud that our ward team consistently receives extremely positive comments in our Friends and Family patient feedback.

Open visiting on all wards is between 10am and 8pm, 7 days a week
Visiting outside these times can be discussed with the nurse or midwife in charge. See our Visiting Policy.

- Feel free to help out at mealtimes
- Do not disturb nurses during medicine rounds
- When asked to leave a bay or room, please respect our request

Wheal Coates is located on the second floor of Trelawny Wing at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske, Truro. If you enter from the Trelawny main entrance (near the café and WH Smiths shop) take the lift or the stairs (at the far end of the corridor) to the second floor.
