Wheal Rose Ward

Wheal Rose ward is a combined Antenatal and Postnatal Ward.
Antenatal beds are for women with complex or emergency needs that require support or care from the medical team, women who are having their labour induced and any other circumstances that may require a hospital stay prior to birth. Postnatal care is given for women who are only requiring a short stay in hospital, these could be women having had an elective caesarean section or women who require support with babies first feed. All care is individualised and planned in partnership with the woman and her family.

Visiting Wheal Rose Ward

Visiting from 2pm to 5pm daily. Women who are admitted for an induction of labour can have their birth partner with them 8am to 8pm. (Please see visiting restrictions – visiting times will be reviewed again after the pandemic.)

Visiting outside these times can be discussed with the nurse or midwife in charge. See our Visiting Policy.

Wheal Rose Ward is at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske in Truro. When you arrive at the hospital, follow the signs to the Princess Alexandra Wing. Wheal Rose Ward is on the ground floor.
